Abstract

The aim of this study is to apply the questionnaire "Perception of Organizational Support" to higher education students at the Faculty of Technology of Itapira, in order to understand attributes that make it possible to qualify their four domains of analysis: performance
management, workload, support material to performance and advancement, promotion and wages. As a specific aim, we seek to  establish a discussion about the results obtained from the perspective of the collaborator regarding the maintenance of the company in the People Management requirement, qualifying the data collected by the research instrument. A convenience sample was used, consisting of one hundred and thirty (n = 130) students, active workers, from the Industrial Production Management (n = 89) and Business Management (n = 41) courses at the Faculty of Technology of Itapira “Ogari de Castro Pacheco”. The instrument used to analyze the Perception of Organizational Support consists
of 50 questions that form 4 domains of analysis: performance management, workload, material support for performance and promotion, promotion and salaries. The analysis pattern developed in our study made it possible to understand that the participating subjects share the mission of their companies, insofar as they demonstrate to contribute to the
achievement of good results and that can boost their well-being. However, exclusively for the “ascension, promotion and wages” dimension, a certain neutrality was observed in the responses, which can be seen as a configuration of power on the part of the organization, in a way that the employee seeks a non-commitment to aspects that may lead to discomfort or even fear of losing one's job. Therefore, the Perception of Organizational Support questionnaire, in addition to facilitating the production of scientific knowledge in the area of
organizational behavior, may prove to be useful as an instrument for organizational diagnosis and evaluation and also as an indirect indicator of managerial training needs in the areas of performance management and employee appreciation practices
