Abstract

Operational Excellence has become one of the main prerequisites of today's industrial development. The concept of industry 4.0 and the implementation of new technologies previously depend on development in project management related to the reduction and continuous improvement of companies in Brazil. The level of competitiveness in the postpandemic globalized world requires that production performance and lean manufacturing, even though this is a concept widely used by the automobile industry, remains in evidence and expands to more sectors. As a result, the number of companies in Brazil that are implementing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) among other methodologies is growing at an accelerated pace, not just being restricted to white assembly lines. This work aims to present an application of the WCM Logistics Pillar in a steel mill in the interior of São Paulo in the process of supplying furnaces and refractories. In this study, Lean Manufacturing tools were applied, based on data collection and breakdown of costs according to the WCM methodology
